testimonials
This Summit was singularly most professional and futuristic in nature. Great minds met on this occasion to evolve a common philosophy of how to moderate, regulate and apply tools and procedures for the protection of our environment. Many lessons have generated and I am more than confident that the organisers of the Summit will put… through a wonderful document for future application by the Government, corporate organisations and NGOs who deal with this subject. It’s a great honour and I felt very privileged to have participated in the first ever Northeast Green Summit. I must thank the organisers as they have been working very positively since the inception of the idea of this Summit.

The Northeast Green Summit 2017 discussed how long term solutions to addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have to go beyond the current efforts of the government to only create jobs and shift more towards promoting social entrepreneurship and providing the youth with the opportunity for respectable livelihoods.

The NE states houses so many valuable medicinal species whose conservation, cultivation, value addition and its effective marketing are of prime importance for overall development of these states. The Summit provided a wonderful platform to dwell on these issues at length with grass-root level stakeholders.

As someone who has attended three consecutive Northeast Green Summits, I can proudly say that it has grown from strength to strength every year. It has provided the much-needed platform for brainstorming on tourism from the perspective of the development of the Northeast India as a natural economic zone.

“I am thankful to the organisers for this wonderful initiative – in fact, I am personally associated with this Summit since its inception as our goals are similar. My forest is one of the biggest houses where all animals can live. If 700 crore people plant one tree each every day, than it will help… to change the climate conditions, otherwise we will have to face trouble in the future.” Read more “PADMASHRI JADAV PAYENG”

“Northeast Green Summit is doing a yeoman service to sustainable and equitable development of the ecologically sensitive region. The introspection and heightened consciousness which the summit is creating towards a holistic development is truly note worthy.”

The Northeast Green Summit 2016 dwelt on the Northeast-based community model for building a clean, green India. It was a grand success.

“The Northeast Green Summit is a wonderful experience. There is no alternative to preserving the gifts of nature in leading healthy, wealthy & joyful lives. The summit has conveyed the same message to us.”

Of varied renewable energy sources, biomass is a focus area. In biomass generation, the role of bamboo is immense and Northeast India has the natural advantage with this valuable resource. The Summit discussed not only the possible potential for distributed energy sources aiding sustainable development, but the potential for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with industries for… larger and region specific participation.
